NC Sand Tournament Rules and FAQ

Parking is available in the pool parking lot or the gravel lot near shelters 1 & 2 at Bur-Mil Park. Courts are located behind Shelter 2. Feel free to bring chairs, coolers, etc. No amplified music is allowed per park rules.

When you get to the courts, you can check-in online via volleyball life or come to the registration table and check-in with our staff.  Only one player per team needs to check in.

*NEW* Tents and spectator chairs may be set up ONLY in front of courts 1 and 2. Only players and coaches are allowed on the sand or inside the fenced area.

Parents are reminded to abide by the USAV ZERO TOLERANCE spectator rules for behavior. 

USAV Rule: NO midriffs, Regular shorts / spandex, NO bathing suit bottoms 

Athletes are responsible for refereeing, making calls, and working out disagreements without any interference from parents and spectators. Parents and spectators who violate these rules will be asked to leave the court area. 

Athletes may ask the tournament director and certified coaches for clarification of rules at any time.

Game balls will be provided, but athletes are encouraged to bring their own balls. 

Scoring will be kept live on Volleyballlife.com. It is not an app, but rather a website for which the athlete will need to create an account.

Players meeting at 8:30 am followed by parents meeting, then coaches meeting if any identify themselves. Play will start promptly at 9 am.

The tournament WILL proceed in the rain, if storms get severe we will pause play and watch the weather.  If the severity continues for an extended time we will end the tournament and reward the teams that have the best scores.
